What To Know About Spread Platters

’Tis the season when Spread Cheese Co. transforms into a bustling platter-making factory. That’s why now is the perfect time to share some facts you should know about our boards and the ordering process.

Select the right serving size.

We use a standard measuring system for cheeses and meats when building platters. We’ll cut 1oz. of cheese per person being served (meats will be half). For example, if you’re serving 4 guests, we’ll put 4oz. (1/4lb.) of each style of cheese on your board. If you’re serving your board as an appetizer or alongside other food, this serving size should be plenty. If your board is intended to be a full meal, you may want to slightly increase the headcount you give us.

Order ahead.

During the holiday season, we cannot accommodate walk-in or same-day platter requests. We are a very small shop and have a very small team. Platter requests should be called in or submitted online at least 48 hours ahead of time.

Be committed.

When you submit a platter request, it goes into our queue and we’ll reserve and prep ingredients accordingly. Once we cut cheese and meat for your board, we cannot resell it. If you need to cancel a platter order, you must give us at least 24 hours notice to be eligible for a refund.

Serve immediately or store with care.

Unless you instruct us otherwise, your platter will come to you fully staged and assembled. If you won’t be serving your platter within 1-2 hours after picking it up, you should remove all dry goods before refrigerating. Crackers and nuts can lose their crunch in the fridge.

Notify us of allergies or aversions.

We want all your guests to be able to enjoy what’s on your platter! Please be sure to notify us of any allergies or aversions when we call to confirm your order. We can do nut-free, gluten-free, meat-free … you name it!
